Advanced Security

Transactions completed with an EMV chip embedded card &Apple Pay are more secure than those of a conventional card since the EMV card & Apple Pay does not leave the hand of the customer, thus giving all control to the customer.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay is the newest trend in the industry that promises efficiency and security. When customers use Apple Pay on an iPhone, their direct card information is not stored in their phone. Instead, it is stored as a Device Account Number; so a different number is created. During the transaction, the customers input their fingerprint in order to complete the transaction. The Device Account Number and fingerprint validation demonstrate how much safer it is to use Apple Pay compared to traditional cards. As Apple Pay is becoming popular, along with NFC, businesses must be prepared for what is to come in order to accommodate all types of payment options!

EMV

EMV chip technology equipped cards are unique compared to traditional magnetic stripe cards. The embedded chip stores and protects cardholder data with tamper proof, dynamic authentication capability. Due to its ability to protect the user against fraud and stolen data, many customers will start to use the EMV chip embedded cards.

On October 1st, 2015, MasterCard’s liability shift will take into effect. This shift will cause the issuer or the merchants to take the liability for any fraud/counterfeit transaction if they do not support EMV. This liability shift will also affect those who do not support PIN as a method to verify the cardholder.
